Internship – 2025+
Central Labs Ltd. is located in Red Deer, Alberta. They are a Private Environmental Testing Laboratory that tests water, soil and oilfield wastes. Central Labs has an opening for an intern, possibly leading to full-time position, to assist with a variety of technical and administrational tests
This position may be partially funded by a Government Program. To obtain the premium in wages (extra $8/hr), the candidate should have:
- A Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or legally entitled to work and study in Canada.
- Under 30 years of Age
- Hold a Post-Secondary Degree
- a Class 5 Drivers license or equivalent; or some very supportive means of transportation to/from work (public transportation is NOT available!)
The ideal candidate should be:
– Graduated (or near-graduated) in any combination of the following programs:
– Hard Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Bio-Chemistry)
– be willing to relocate to Red Deer, Alberta

The job description will entail:
– Term of employment will be approx. 1 year, starting approx. Apr. 07, 2025 (or shortly thereafter)
– Learning basic lab skills to prepare chemicals, perform a variety of preparation & analysis on soil, water, and oilfield wastes.
– Full training will be provided as per required skill set.
– Logistics support including sample shipping, pickup & drop-off.
– assumed duties of emergency contact on select alternating weeks for after-hours, weekends and/or holidays, including sample preparation and/or analysis. A bonus will apply for these duties.
– when lab duties are caught up, the student may assist Quality control, marketing and promotion of the company;
– Provide various other assistance as required by the company.
Wage range is between $20 – $35 / hr., dependent on educational/hands-on experience and enthusiasm. Premiums may apply if you meet certain entry-level and/or aboriginal backgrounds.
